How it works

Initial Contact

There are many ways to start a dialogue with us. You can simply give us a call initially and discuss your ideas or send us an email explaining what you are interested in. Don’t forget to include your contact details in any correspondence, as it is sometimes easier for us to discuss options with you on the phone before we reply to your requests.  We are happy to discuss outline costs for what we do and can guide you to how to maximise your budget and get the best value storage for your money.

Understanding your ideas

When you get in touch, it is helpful to have some indication of the style of furniture that you are interested in (this is where a visit to the gallery sections can be fruitful in giving you inspiration).  There you will find various combinations of door, pelmet and skirting styles painted in a variety of colours, with coordinating ironmongery,  that each result in a unique piece of furniture.  The gallery is by no means exhaustive, as the possible combinations are endless, and we often create unique door and pelmet styles to meet the exact requirements for the look our clients want to achieve- it is however a great starting point.  You can also send us a freehand sketch, or a collage of pictures that have inspired you, to give us an indication of style.

A few basic measurements

Once we understand what furniture you are interested in commissioning, what we ultimately need from you in order to begin the design process, are some basic dimensions so that we can get a feel for the space you are trying to fill with fitted furniture. We are happy to work from architects scale drawings (often available if you are having or have recently had building work done as part of the project), or you can simply send us your own basic dimensions (height of the room and width of the walls where the furniture is to be fitted in cm). These basic measurements will give us enough in to prepare an initial design, which we can present to you for feedback.

The Design Process

Finally, after taking a brief from you, either over the phone or via email, and having a few basic dimensions to hand, we start the process of designing your furniture. Our design team, led by our Creative Director, will design your specific furniture and prepare elevations using our CAD programmes to illustrate the style and proportions of each piece. We will then prepare a quotation for the the supply of the furniture, which includes an estimated cost for fitting and hand finishing in the colour of your choice. We aim to have a design prepared for you within 2-3 days, often sooner, and will contact you once you receive it to get your feedback and refine the design if necessary.

Placing the order

Once you are happy with the design and costs, we will ask for you for a deposit and conduct a site survey if needed, to confirm measurements.  At this stage, we can discuss the selection of handles and advise you on the colour for your furniture if you are undecided. We will then liaise with our production team to schedule the job with our workshop team and confirm the delivery and installation times with you and the fitter.

Your furniture

Once the design has been agreed, the process of producing working drawings commences. These are the hand crafted drawings used by the workshop to produce your furniture to the precise dimensions and style shown on your design. Every single door and trim is made by hand from raw materials with nothing as standard, so every piece of bespoke furniture is truly custom made just for your home. We only use the finest soft close door and drawer runners and interior fittings and our lovely limed oak MFC interiors, which are easy to wipe clean and will give years of service. All of the exteriors of our furniture are white primed furniture grade MDF, beautifully smooth and ready for painting by our in house decorating team.

Decoration

Once manufacture is completed, decoration of the exterior of the furniture can begin. We have our own dedicated furniture decorators who often apply the initial coats of colour to the furniture in our factory, meaning that only the final coat needs to be applied after installation. Using a specialist furniture paint, our decorators are able to match any colour required by clients and apply it skilfully using either a roller or a brush, depending upon the finish required.

Installation and finishing

Your furniture is delivered to your home by the very members of our team who crafted it. They will assist in unloading it and take into the room where it will be fitted, checking every component and giving the fitter a final briefing before installation commences.  Our trained and highly skilled fitter will then carefully fit your made to measure furniture, leaving the room neat and tidy. When the fitter leaves your home, your furniture is ready for use and will give you years of service and pleasure.

Quality for the long term

We believe our track record speaks for itself, as most of our work is from satisfied clients whose recommendations to friends and family are a real honor. And for many clients, we have the privilege of working together several times over many years, as they move home and call us back to recreate slightly altered, but much loved pieces we created in previous homes. Why not give us a call and judge for yourself.

We are absolutely passionate about bringing your vision to life.

Why would anyone trudge through endless preconceived and utterly unalterable designs, making seemingly small sacrifices along the way to ensure that you can make something work ‘well enough’ when you could just have exactly what you want all along?

Whether it is a hybrid concept that is the result of weeks of research or an imagined design that you have collected from your travels, we want to ensure that your home is as special and unique as you are.
